SlitherDash runs best on hard floors - wood, tile, laminate, or vinyl. It handles low, flat carpet at slower speeds, but thick or shaggy carpet slows the snake down and makes block pickup unreliable. If your play space is mostly thick carpet, a hallway or kitchen floor becomes the arena.

Do I need two snakes to play?
One snake is the full solo game: drive, collect, grow, beat your own record. Battle mode - stealing blocks off each other's tails - needs two snakes, which is why most families go straight for the 2-pack.
